SHANGHAI, CHINA – IMX announces its final showcase for the conference week, ‘Beat Leap’ (节拍跃动), an event focused on contemporary electronic dance music. The showcase will take place as part of the official IMX 2025 Shanghai conference.

This event is designed to give international delegates a direct experience of the vibrant and diverse club culture in the region. The lineup features six producers and DJs, each with a unique sound spanning UK Garage, Bass, Breakbeat, and Techno.

Rö (Russia): Rö is an experimental electro producer from Russia whose work spans ambient and techno. Deeply fascinated by the texture and materiality of vinyl, Rö extends his artistic practice to sound installations and field recordings, exploring the profound connections between geography, memory, and sound. As a sound artist with VACUUM, Rö continues to push the boundaries where Techno and art converge.

echocatcher: She is a tuner of dance music and visuals, a master of fusion who melds vinyl, radio, posters, street culture, food, and club life into her art. With BOUNCY BOUNCY, she transmits the very particles of UK Garage, Bass, Breakbeat, Techno, and Dubstep directly into the body. She is a weaver of atmospheres, a resonator of sound and color, and the very type of artist who transforms a passion into a world tour. You can catch her bouncing sonic adventures on platforms like Boiler Room, Rinse FM, and Kiosk Radio.

Cocoonics: Cocoonics crafts a cocoon for music production, constructing fictional narratives that blur the edges of memory and reality. Hailing from Hong Kong, she began her journey in 2017 with an SP404 live set on HKCR radio, quickly ascending to stages like Clockenflap and Sónar HK Festival. By 2020, she had established herself within Shanghai’s music scene. In 2024, Cocoonics completed a multi-country tour featuring a gesture-controlled live set that deeply integrates body, sound, and visual expression.

chuan: Chuan crafts sets filled with finely-produced, irresistibly cute music. His sound is a fluid fusion of Black American dance rhythms and the deep, resonant vibrations of Jamaican soundsystem culture. For him, DJing is both science and soul—balancing technical precision with raw feeling to create immersive experiences that move bodies and touch minds. Fresh from releasing a collaborative single with 3ASiC on the 3024 label, his upcoming productions have already drawn attention from influential artists like Jacques Greene, object blue, and Akanbi.

ZHUO: ZHUO’s sound moves seamlessly from slow-burning ambience to deep, organic grooves, weaving through psychedelic, folk, and earthy electro textures. She blends field recordings and natural samples into her compositions, crafting immersive and fluid auditory journeys that transport listeners into evolving sonic landscapes.
